 Dates for Your Diary

Sunday 12th June Mugdock Concert– details to follow
Thursday 23rd/30th August Rehearsals start again after the summer holidays
Friday 30th November/Friday 7th December 2012 Christmas Concert at Bearsden Public Hall.

Although BMYO is run as a friendly, informal group it nevertheless has to adhere to health and safety guidelines and school regulations at all times. Accordingly, we do operate a code of conduct for the children and there can be no running around or carrying-on. Please remind your children to respect the school and its property. Children should be collected promptly or, in the case of children waiting for older siblings to finish, they should be supervised by a parent. Due to Fire Regulations, children must continue to be signed in and out of the building. Those aged 11 and under must be signed in by an adult; 12 years old and over may sign themselves in.

When it is your turn on the parent rota please arrive by 6.40pm to: set up music stands (and take down afterwards), put out chairs and, most importantly, help supervise for the duration of the rehearsal to ensure compliance with the code of conduct and general well-being of the children. Assisting with preparation of the refreshments would also be appreciated. Please make a note of your duty evening in your diary; the orchestra cannot operate without sufficient adult supervision. It is your responsibility to swap with another parent if you are unable to do a duty. If you are unsure of your duty dates, check with Parent Rota Secretary – Louise Franklin, Tel. 0141-584-9158.

Insurance

Please insure your instruments! BMYO carries public liability insurance but this does not extend to members’ personal effects. We strongly advise you to insure your children’s instruments as there is always a chance of accidental damage when a large number of children are gathered together.

Website

Jenny Wilson is continuing to take excellent care of our BMYO Website and we would encourage you to visit www.bmyo.org.uk regularly for up-to-date information: a good example being that the venue each week may have to be changed at very short notice. Why not try registering with Twitter? For instructions on how to do this just follow the link at the website.
